Get to Know Dr. Michael Ahn

Originating from Carrollton, Dr. Ahn has been providing reliable and personalized dental treatments for well over two decades. Not only does he get to help preserve and improve people’s oral health, but he also has the chance to work alongside an amazing team that supports and embodies his dental philosophy. Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?

Treating people and helping others has been of great interest to Dr. Ahn ever since he was a young boy. Naturally, he sought to pursue a career that would allow him the opportunity to provide help to others in his community. Additionally, he was always fascinated with building and creating things with his hands. Since dentistry combines artistic and hands-on work with his love of treating others, he decided to go forth with his path to becoming a dentist. Today, he loves every minute of what he does and he’s never looked back.

Where Did You Study Dentistry?

Dr. Ahn began his career in dentistry by attending Pacific Union College, CA before studying at Loma Linda University. Since then, he’s practiced for well over 20 years and has placed over 10,000 dental implants. That said, he’s also undergone extensive training and gained experience in various other phases of dentistry. He’s served as an adjunct professor at the University of Southern California and was an instructor at several Live Surgery courses. Dr. Ahn has also had the privilege to be a speaker at multiple academic institutions and podiums, such as the International Dental Implantology Academy, Care1st, and the Global Academy of Clinical Education.

Other than being a current faculty member of TruAbutment and a course instructor at Care1st, Dr. Ahn also regularly seeks continuing education to remain on top of the latest advances in dentistry. He’s also an active and proud member of several organizations, including:

• Texas Dental Association
• American Academy of Implant Dentistry
• International Congress of Oral Implantologists

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?

At home, Dr. Ahn spends much of his time creating beautiful memories with his lovely wife and their two children—one of which is in high school while the other is studying Psychology at the University of Texas at Dallas. His family moved from Southern California several years ago and they truly enjoy the trees, air, sky, and people in the Dallas area. Texan BBQ is one of their favorite foods now! Aside from dentistry, Dr. Ahn’s passion is golfing. He used to snowboard and ocean fish, and he still plays the guitar in his spare time. He and his wife also love searching for new restaurants, as they both love trying out different foods.
